Fireproof

Clay and I had a date night last night! Lesa came up and watched Audrey for us and we went out to eat and then to the movies to see "Fireproof". It was a great movie!! It was a tearjerker though so if you don't like being around a bunch of boo-hooing then I suggest you wait to see it when it comes out on DVD. Everyone around us was crying their eyes out-- including me! We both really enjoyed the time together and the movie-- THANK YOU LESA!

MG and Laura check this blog everyday for new pictures of Audrey. I thought I would surprise them with some photos of them! The photos of MG are from her trip up here for "Camp Christi" this past summer and the others are just random. :) You will need to click on the photos to enlarge them.

One Month Pediatrician Visit

I took Audrey to the Pedi for her one month check-up yesterday. She weighs 9 pounds 5 ounces!! She has outgrown her newborn clothes (cry, cry) and she is wearing 0-3 months now. My-- time flies!!! She also got a shot and a heel prick. It was awful. That little face squinched up and her bottom lip poked out and she let out a scream that I had never heard come out of her before. The poor nurses were trying to calm a crying baby and a crying momma at the same time! Clay is going to have to take her to her next appointment. She gets 4!?!?! shots at one time then. UGH!!
At our first pedi appointment the doctor told me not to take her out in public until after her 2 month appointment. We can't go to church (my small group is starting a new study-- Fireproof!---we hope we won't miss too much of it, it will be good!), shopping, out to dinner, etc. The kicker was that I couldn't take her around any other children! So-- poor MG and Laura have not met their little cousin! Good news though! I asked him yesterday if it would be alright to take her around one or two children and he said sure!! Just as long as they don't have runny noses and they don't touch her...hee...hee!! That means I have to plan a trip home sometime very soon!! It also means that all my stay-at-home mommy friends are about to have some company! I feel liberated!! Here are some pictures of sweet little Audrey. I took them yesterday before we left to go to see the doctor.

Locks of Love

One of my students asked me to grow my hair out for Locks of Love 3 years ago. I agreed to do it if they would do it with me. That child is now an eighth grader and I hadn't seen her in 2 years. Ironically, she was in the hair salon today as I was getting my hair cut! From the looks of her hair it looked like she didn't keep up her end of the deal. I did go through with my part of the deal though and officially cut my hair today.
Here is the before:

After:

Oh, yeah--- she cut 11 inches off! :)

Anne Geddes Wannabe

My friend Kelly gave me an autobiography of Anne Geddes last summer. I loved reading about her life and how she grew to become the photographer that she is. Well... I tried to copy one of her famous photos last night using Audrey as the model. This was my inspiration..

This is what I came up with!!

I started with a black background that I had used for another child's photos. I didn't have anything that resembled the cute green that Anne used. I also went to Williams Orchard to get this great pumpkin. It was the first trip I've been on with just me and the baby! It was a success! We also went to the Sonic and we may go back today! :)

Then my handy-dandy assistant (my baby daddy) was supposed to gently place the uber-cooperative baby on the pumpkin so that I could quickly snap the photo. The baby didn't like the cool feeling of the pumpkin and the assistant said we were torturing the model. We had to stop for the day. So.... this is what we got.

Thank goodness Sweet Pea stepped in to save the day. :)

Here's some for the grandparents that check this blog everyday....

Bath time and a Work Out

Clay grabbed Audrey and walked her on the treadmill tonight! She actually liked it! It made me nervous!

I also gave her a bath tonight. She's been a busy girl today!

Slide show again

My sister did come visit us numerous times and I have photos of her but for some reason I can't seem to find them!??

Straight-Jacket and Pj's = Baby Bliss

One of my students gave us this pink swaddle blanket and Audrey LOVES to be swaddled. My momma gave her some also and they have been lifesavers. I'm not sure I would enjoy being put in a straight-jacket to sleep! The other picture is of a cute little PJ outfit that one of Clay's co-workers sent to us yesterday. It is so soft and sweet!

Slide Show?

I am trying to figure out how to post a slide show but for some reason blogspot will not accept the html that I am copying from the Slide website. I am hoping I can just post the link. If not, I'll try again another day.

Okay-- the link has to be copied and pasted into your browser. Any of you guys know how to fix this?

Pediatrician

We went to the Pediatrician Tuesday for Audrey's first check-up. Our favorite VHELP Pedi's (Dr. L) office is less than a mile away from our house. The appointment was at 8:30 and I got up at 6:00 to start getting ready. I should have gotten up at 4:00. Thank goodness my momma was here to help me. I eventually just gave up and she had to get Audrey bathed and ready while I got myself ready. I never realized what kind of drama could go into a doctor's appointment! We did make it on time! For those of you without kiddos-- the pediatricians office actually has two waiting rooms-- one for "well babies" and one for "sick babies". That was pretty neat to me!! Audrey now weighs 7lbs 13 oz. We are so proud!! Dr. L said that she was doing great and he just loved all over her. That made me love him even more. He did say that we couldn't take her out in "groups" for 2 months. So that means no church, Target, grocery shopping or anything. He specifically said not to take her to VHELP. I guess I will have to wait until she is bigger and stronger before I take her up there! He said to tell Mrs. Holley and Mrs. Hughes to see him about that if they had any problems with it. LOL! Here is a picture of us before we ran out the door. She is wearing a sweet little dress that Lesa gave her. I love the hand-me-downs!!
Here are some random photos of just plain cuteness....
