Audrey's First Christmas

Audrey's first Christmas was a wonderful one. She was spoiled rotten by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! Here are some photos from the past week. Click on the photo to enlarge it. :)

We had a great time visiting with family and showing off our baby girl. She is growing and learning more and more each day! Her biggest accomplishment lately is that she decided she would show us how she rolls from front to back. We knew she could do it because she will flip herself over in the night but neither of us had actually seen her in action. Well, on Christmas Eve she decided she would let us in on the secret! She pulls her little legs up under her and jerks her hiney up. She then leans over to one side and tucks that arm under and then.... plop!! She lets gravity take over and pull her on over. It is so CUTE! She does all this with much grunting, moaning and carrying on! As soon as I can I will post a video of her doing her latest trick. She also has grown strong enough to support herself on her legs. She will "stand" up if we support her. She loves to do that!! One other thing that she has been doing for a quite awhile is drooling! She is a slobber monster right now. She constantly has one or both of her little hands in her mouth and she is just drooling all over herself. We have to keep a bib on her at all times because it just saturates her clothing. Thanks to Lesa we have some cutie-pie bibs that match her outfits! We suspected that she must be teething but Dr.L said that he didn't think so-- not yet anyway. That brings me to our last doctor's appointment. We went for her four month appointment on the 16th of December. At that time she weighed 13 pounds. She got another round of 5 shots and she once again screamed like a hyena. Dr. L. did say that we could give her rice cereal when she gets to be 5 months old-- then we could move on to yellow veggies. I can't wait to see how she reacts to that! I'm hoping that it will help her sleep longer during the day. Right now she takes about 4 naps each day that last about 20 minutes each. I'd love for her to be able to drop a couple of those naps and take a longer one.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year! Our 2008 rocked for us!

Twilight spoiler-
Clay and I went to watch the Twilight movie tonight. I must say that I was originally apprehensive about reading these books because they are about vampires and I thought that was just plain silly. However.... I was talked into it by some ladies of my mommy group and I decided to read them just to prove to those ladies that I wouldn't like them! HA! I was so very wrong. Now, I am not saying that the author is the best author in the world-- the plot lines are a bit weak and she uses way too many adjectives to describe minute details BUT I still enjoyed reading the books. I enjoyed them so much that I had to see the movie. I even enjoyed the movie and that NEVER happens with me. I am a book lover so I will always pick the book version before I pick a movie. The books are definitely set up for the teeny-bopper age group and the movie theatre was filled with them-- giggling and talking the whole way through. That would normally have annoyed me but it was okay this time because it went perfectly with the movie--- plus I was giggling and whispering in Clay's ear the whole time also. He needed a narrator because he hasn't read the books. :)

Our Little Helper

MG came to stay with us Sunday through Tuesday and she was so much help with Audrey! We miss her already!! She helped feed her, dress her, change her and play with her. She also helped me bake some fabulous reindeer cookies! Thank you, Gracie!

The big 3-0

Last Thursday was my 30th birthday. I really can't believe I am 30 years old. Where has the time gone? I don't feel 30. Anyway-- Clay worked really hard to make it a special day for me. He started by getting up at 3:30 AM and baking me a Birthday Cake. It was complete with 30 candles!!! He also made me breakfast that morning. Later in the day he sent me some pretty flowers that remind me of Christmas! Very sweet. Finally, we went out to eat at Logan's! It was a fun day but the best part of my birthday was the weekend! We left sweet little Audrey with Clay's parents (boo-hoo, cry, cry!) and drove down to Fairhope to celebrate me leaving my 20's. We stayed at The Grand one night (heaven!!) and went shopping in Fairhope on Saturday. They have decorated the streets for Christmas and it is so pretty! I love Christmas lights! We also went into Mobile and went to a Lynn Family Reunion. That is Clay's grandmother's side of the family. We had some awesome shrimp gumbo!
We couldn't get a room at The Grand the second night we were there so we went and stayed at a Homewood Suites in Spanish Fort. It was brand new and right near a new Bass Pro Shop. We shopped until we dropped but we didn't buy anything the whole time we were there except one ornament and some fudge at Bass Pro!!!
Finally, we ended the trip with a visit to my friend, Dorsey's house. We got to meet her precious little girl! Ellie was born just 3 weeks after Audrey. Oh, how I wish they all lived up here still!!! We also ate some yummy soup that her chef of a husband made for us. Thank you!!

Audrey had a wonderful time with her Grandparents. They loved and kissed all over her the entire weekend. It was really hard to leave her though. We decided we would just take her with us next time!

Happy Gobble, Gobble!

Audrey's first Thanksgiving was a wonderful day! We have many things to be thankful for this year. We had lots of good food and fun times hanging out with my family.

Friday was Audrey's "100th Day" birthday. We had a mini celebration for her. When I say "mini" I mean very mini. We stuck this cute little hat on her and gave her lots of hugs and kisses. That was about it. :) We do love her dearly though and we cherish these past 100 days. She is a blessing!
