Audrey's First Vacation

Before I start about our little trip, does anyone know how to take that purple border off of my header? I have taken everything that comes anywhere close to "border" out of the html code for the blog but it is STILL there!!! Anyone??

We took another trip back down to The Grand this week. The last time we went it was my 30th Birthday and we didn't take Wildcat. We missed her so much while we were there that we decided that we would take her with us the next time we went. She LOVED her first vacation!! If you have not gone down to Point Clear to visit The Grand Hotel, you should make that your next vacation destination.

Here we are getting ready to go to the pool. That thing was HUGE! It had a couple of kiddie pools, a slide (which was Clay's favorite part of the trip), hot tubs, fountains, waterfalls, etc.

Audrey was a little tentative about playing with the fountains at first. That lasted about 10 seconds. By the time we were ready to go, she'd crawled all over them! We would hold her arms for her so she could walk and she would walk straight over to one of the fountains and sit down on it!

I love the old live oaks that cover the grounds of the Grand. Being fair skinned, I never tan! I just get pink and then freckle. I have to be very careful about how much sun exposure I get so the pool and beach area at the Grand is perfect for me. The huge live oaks provide just enough coverage that I can get out in the sun if I want or stay in the shade.

Audrey also loved playing in the sand. She was very curious about it and tried to eat it numerous times. She didn't get to stay on the beach very long because of that!

I will do a second post again soon about this trip. Audrey's nap is almost over and I need to get our vacation laundry done! :)

Kisses again

I am re-posting this because the video wasn't working in the earlier post. Hopefully it will now.

Last week while Gracie was here, Audrey learned to give us "kisses" when prompted. You can see some pictures of her giving Gracie kisses in the last post. This video is the cutest video of her giving kisses to that sweet baby that lives in the mirror!!

Laundry

I wish I could have this much fun with a hamper....

During this entire time she was playing with her laundrey, she was "talking" to me. Daddaadaadadaaadaadaaaddaa!! We do LOTS of talking about Da-Da. I can't wait to hear a Ma-Ma one day!

Last week my friend Sara from Savannah came to spend some time with us. I loved having her for the short time she was here and I miss her so!! I am trying to talk her into moving over here but I don't think her family would like that too much!!

These were taken after church yesterday. Audrey loves to "stand-up"! She tries to get us to let go of her but she always falls when we do. She will be a whopping 8 months old tomorrow!

Mini Camp Christi

One of my students in my last year of teaching spent a week each summer with their aunt in Nashville. They called this week, Camp Whatever her Aunt's Name Is. They did wonderful things together such as make t-shirts with the Camp's name on them, go to concerts, etc. This student has a sister and the sister did not go to "Camp" together. They each got their own week. The girl in my room looked forward to going each year and talked about the fun things they did together frequently.

I thought this was a wonderful idea and we started Camp Christi with Gracie last summer. We did all kinds of fun things--- McWane, the Zoo, parks, crafts, cooking, etc. This week was Gracie's Spring Break so we had a "Mini-Camp" so that Gracie could go to the beach with Lesa's family at the end of the week. We will do the real Camp Christi this summer. I LOVE having Gracie here with us-- we get her all to ourselves!!! Laura will start coming when she completes her Kindergarten year- that is if she wants to come. She doesn't have any interest yet!

1. We made a fancy bejeweled mirror.

2. Gracie made us some divine multi-colored french vanilla pudding.

3. She also baked us a fabulous chocolate cake with buttercream icing.

4. She created and we framed a "self-portrait" that was meant to be for Lesa but must hang in Gracie's room.

5. The most favorite thing this little momma did was this....

.... PLAY, PLAY, PLAY with Audrey!!

We can't wait until the real Camp Christi this summer!!!

Easter Party

We went back home for Audrey's second egg hunt last weekend. My sister and her friend, Nikki, had an Easter Party at Lesa's house. They had around 400 eggs! You can see how Clay and Alan hid all those eggs in the following pictures! The kids painted spring paintings, dyed eggs and played games. I didn't realize this but most children these days do not dye eggs-- people buy plastic ones now! I always looked forward to dying eggs with my Mom and sister when I was little. It was so much fun to decorate them and then hunt them! We had to always make sure we knew EXACTLY how many eggs we had hidden because we didn't want any stinky surprises a month or so later!
