Mother's Day Out: End of Year Party

Audrey had her last day at Mother's Day Out Thursday and honestly, I'm glad it's over. I like the school and I liked her teachers, I'm just glad I get to have her all to myself for at least two and a half months!! No waking up and having to get dressed and go anywhere two days a week, no packing her a lunch and no worries!! We are going to be footloose and fancy-free this summer and I am so EXCITED! If it wasn't for her daddy reminding me that she really likes to go to MDO, then I don't think she'd be going next year!

While we were getting the children's food ready, they were outside on the playground playing. I rarely get to see Audrey interact with her peers without me being around so I "spied" on her through her classroom window. This is what she does when I'm not around.

Hang out with one of her teachers while she talks with a friend....

... and sit by the gate and dig in the dirt. She was doing this with another sweet little girl but by the time I got my camera ready, the other little one had ran off.
She also liked it when one of her teachers blew bubbles for them but for some reason I didn't get a shot with her in it. :)

After the kiddos ate lunch, we headed to the indoor playroom that is normally reserved for the bigger kids. Audrey's class had never been in there and they loved it! I borrowed a bouncy house from a sweet friend of mine and it was a hit!

The final pictures are just a couple of shots from Audrey's first "classroom". Even though she only went two days a week for 4 hours, she did have teachers and they did learn a lot so I consider it a class! :)

Atlanta Zoo

My friend, Kelly, her two kiddos, and me and Audrey all went on a road trip to the Atlanta Zoo on Monday.  Right now our zoo is going through some renovations and doesn't have an elephant, gorillas or the lions on exhibit. We saw PLENTY of them in Atlanta though!

When we first arrived we had to ride the train because a certain little boy absolutely loves riding them!

The Zoo Atlanta train ride is much shorter than ours but has more tuunnneelllss!

Audrey was pretty fascinated with all of the animals. She studied each one pretty closely. Her favorites right now are the tigers. When we go to our zoo, she will stand and watch the tigers for the longest time and if you ask her what sound they make, she will give you a fierce growl!

Now, this sweet baby wasn't a bit of trouble the entire time she was there. I don't recall her crying AT ALL the entire day. She is one precious little girl!

This last picture cracks me up because of the sassy way Audrey is walking. She looks like she is on a mission and she was just really glad to be out of her stroller!

We only had to stop once on our way to Atlanta and once on the way back. I think that with 3 children who are all 3 and under, that's pretty good!!

Splash Pad

There are 3 Splash Pads within driving distance of our house. I love them because it gives Audrey something fun to do in the water without me worrying about her falling in a pool, drowning, or having to get in a swimsuit myself (yay!)!

These pictures are from a few weeks ago at a Splash Pad that is about a 30 minute drive from my house. With the traffic where I live, everything is about 20-30 minutes away though!

Initially, Audrey was indifferent about the sprinklers but by the time we were ready to go, she was ALL about it!

The next set of pictures are from the splash pad that is at our local zoo. Since there are no elephants until the fall, the lions are off exhibit and the gorillas are not coming until late summer, this is about the best thing they have going!

The last splash pad I mentioned doesn't open until after Memorial Day and it is the closest to me. It will only take about 5 minutes to get to so I plan to spend lots of time there this summer!

Mother's Day 2010

On Mother's Day, we spent a lot of time outside, ate a huge meal and even dipped Audrey's toes in the pool. It was a fun, relaxing day! I think we should have Mother's Day EVERYDAY! Ha! Not really, I would miss taking care of Audrey! :)

Audrey in a deep conversation with a cow.

Back in March, Audrey helped her Paw Paw plant some potatoes and when we were there for Mother's Day, some of them were ready to be dug up. All the cousins got in on the digging!

After we had entertained the girls with all of the potato digging they could handle, Clay challenged Gracie and Laura to a race with Audrey. Since she was the "baby", she got a bit of a head start.

Poor thing ran her heart out and still got beat by the big girls!

I love how she's pumping her arms in this picture! She does this ALL THE TIME and I luuuuvvv it!

They were racing to the tree. Audrey got a little help from Daddy on the way back!

Still got beat!! LOL! I love the looks of pure joy on all of their faces!!

This final picture is of Audrey dipping her toes in the pool. She so wanted to get the rest of her little body in the water but the high was in the 70's that day and this momma was way too cold to get in the water! It didn't bother MG and Laura one bit though!
