MDO Halloween Party '10

Audrey's precious little school has a character parade to showcase the kiddos' costumes each year. Last year, Audrey had a stomach bug and missed out on the action so I she was so excited to participate this year! :) I dressed her up as her love, Miss Pattycake, and she strutted her stuff all around our den and kitchen. By the time I got her to school, she wasn't as into her Pattycake outfit anymore! Ha! She did manage to keep it on though! She was a trooper!

When we got to school, Audrey spotted this teacher dressed as Scooby and was mesmerized. She wanted to go "pet the doggie". I LOVED that the teacher happened to be right in front of Audrey's class throughout the parade. She couldn't keep her eyes off the "doggie"!

In this photo, she'd just realized I was there! I was a little unsure of how she would react, would she want to stay with me, cry, or be just fine? Well, after a hug and a kiss, she was just fine to join her friends back in the parade. She's becoming such a big girl!

A couple of hours after the parade, the classes all had parties to celebrate fall. Audrey's class ate lunch, made a pumpkin craft and spent some time playing in the classroom. Audrey was so sweet! She wanted to show me all the toys and "stuff" she does while she is there. I loved it! I am so glad I get to go to her parties and "parades"! It was definitely the highlight of my week. Well, except  for watching her in her dance class!

We have had lots of fun this week and even more fun to come this weekend!! :)

Helper

Audrey has become quite the helper lately. She loves to do anything I am doing, from sorting laundry, to feeding Sweet Pea, to cooking!

Most mornings, Audrey will wake up somewhere between 7:00 and 8:00. I always coax her down the stairs and away from her playroom by telling her we have to go "cook" breakfast. She LOVES to help me cook and can almost make a pan of muffins completely on her own! She tells me how much water to add and where to find the bowls, etc. You can imagine how excited she was one afternoon last week when I told her that we were going to make CUPCAKES!

Such concentration on her little face!

Um, yeah. These were just for us! We didn't share our germs with anyone outside of our family!

It was a lot of fun and her little cupcakes turned out to be pretty tasty!

First Ballet Class

I took Audrey to her first ballet class Wednesday morning and it was so much fun! She was so excited!! I was a little nervous about how she would react because I had to leave her in the class alone. I could watch her through a two-way mirror but she couldn't see me. We talked a lot about what would happen at the class and what she should expect once she got there. Audrey usually does well if she knows what is going on. Her sweet Daddy talked to her about the new friends she would meet, the new teacher, the new building, etc. He even helped her come up with what to "say" to a new friend. I think all that talking paid off because she did wonderfully!!

We got to the studio about 15 minutes early so we could meet her teacher, Mrs. Lori, and to tour the studio. I wanted to show Audrey the two-way mirror so she would know I was still there even though she couldn't see me. At one point during the class, she ran up to the mirror and looked right at it and said, "Hi, Mommy!". I loved it! :)

Because she was on the other side of the mirror, I didn't get many good pictures. It was hard to take through the glass-- if I used my flash then I just got a picture of my reflection. These are taken on manual with me holding my breath to try to keep the camera still.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

I took Audrey to a birthday party at the pumpkin patch this weekend and she had so much fun! She loved petting the animals in the petting zoo and running all over the pumpkin patch trying to find the perfect pumpkin. She would go to each pumpkin, try to pick it up, "Say, heeeaavvy" and then move on to the next one. She finally found one that was just her size! :)

She thought this might be a good spot to relax. Ha!
We played "Pick up Ducks" and Audrey had so much trouble decided which ducky she wanted to pick up. She settled on the blue one after deliberating for 15 minutes and lucky her won! She got to pick out an inflatable butterfly and she carried that thing all over the pumpkin patch! :)

Wordlful Wednesday: First Ballet Class

I am taking Audrey to her first ballet class this morning and she is beyond excited! We tried on our brand new dance attire Monday night for Daddy to see.

In this photo she is demonstrating her skills... isn't she PRECIOUS!?!?

A little hip-hop booty action thrown in for good measure..

More "dancin'".. Oh, how I love these two! Who couldn't love a Daddy that demonstrates a ballerina twirl for his little girl?!

More pics to come after the class today.

Delicious Autumn (as it is here anyway)

Audrey is addicted to playing outside. It really doesn't matter if she has "toys" out there with her or if it is just me and her. Or her daddy. Well, honestly, I don't think she'd care if she were out there completely alone. The only thing is that she wouldn't have anyone to keep her from running into the street!

We went out to eat Sunday night and our waitress gave us a pink balloon for Audrey. She takes that balloon everywhere we go. Here she is playing with it outside yesterday-- she kept getting upset because it was getting "dirty". The balloon also rides in the car with us but I have to buckle it in the seatbelt beside Audrey. You know, 'cause balloons can't ride in a car without being buckled up. "It NOT saaaaffee, Mommy!"

This sweet girl has had a camera in her face since before she was born and she knows how to ham it up! When I say, "cheese", this is the lovely smile she gives me. I absolutely adore this cheeky grin and I hope she never stops doing it. Most likely she will stop tomorrow because I just jinxed myself by putting that in print.

Audrey's sweet friends, Dylan and Cannon, gave Audrey a set of Color Wonder for her birthday so we busted that out in the basement. She loved it and wanted to use every page. I had a flashback to myself last week. I found a bag of mini-Twix and tried my best to eat all of them in one sitting. Thank goodness Audrey hasn't discovered the joys of a Twix bar yet and gets her kicks from Color Wonder!

And because she is her Daddy's girl, she had to sweep the leaves out of the garage before we were able to go inside. She's Mommy's "hepper" which translates to "helper" in Audreyese.

I've been on a blogging spree today. I'm trying to play "catch-up". If you scroll down, you will find new posts in August and in October. I'm done for now, though. Sweet cheeks nap is almost over and I need to do responsible stuff like.. laundry. :(
