Smiley

Our little Smiley one is now six months old. She reached this milestone the same day her big sister turned three. It was a happy day around our house.

At six months she is.....

26 inches and 60th percentile for height

16 pounds 10 ounces and 55th percentile for weight

17 3/4cm head circumference and the 98% percentile.

*Sitting up all by herself very well. She started wobbling on her own when she was around 5.5 months and can now sit unassisted for a substantial amount of time!

*She loves to bounce in her jenny jump up. This one is about 8-9 years old. It was passed down to us from her cousin Garrett and used by him, Audrey and now Shelby Claire. I love it because it has a tray on the front that will hold her toys. The ones that are available in stores now do not have the tray!

* She's become very inquistive and curious. She reaches for anything and everything she can get her little chubby hands on-- and usually puts it straight in her mouth!
She's realizing she has something on her tummy that can be removed in this next picture. Just an example of her curious nature! She had to pull it off and check it out! *love the chubby thighs!*

*Her sister treats her like she is a baby doll. In the photos below, Audrey had arranged all of her little mermaids and princesses and wanted me to put Smiley down with them. For the time being, SC is happy doing whatever but I'm sure those times will change very soon!

*She is able to move where ever she wants to go just by rolling everywhere. I can't turn my back on her or she will end up in a mess!
* Smiley loves to be outside and to ride in our stroller. I debated whether or not I needed a double stroller and I am so glad I got one! We use it a lot and both girls enjoy riding in it.
* We tried out the push car this month and since she can sit up well, she was able to hold on and seemed to enjoy herself. Audrey certainly enjoyed her sister riding in that car!

Overall, Shelby Claire is a perfect little baby. She is laid back, rarely fusses and we love her so!

More Third Birthday!

Audrey has been waking up bright and EARLY these days and her birthday was no exception! She woke up raring to GO! Here she is blowing out her three candles. The girl was so excited that I put candles in her cinnamon roll!
Shelby Claire got her most favorite person a special treat for her birthday, an Ariel doll and some playdough! Audrey was over the moon for that Ariel doll!
Since Audrey shares her birthday with her Too Too and her cousin, Laura, we left right after breakfast and headed down to visit with Too Too. The birthday girls played and played and ate even more cake! I hate that this picture is blurry but I wanted to include it because she looks so growny in this picture. She's losing her baby face and is looking more and more like a little girl. She's still on the small size for her age but she's gaining on her friends more and more by the day. Just for reference though on her height, these "pants" are a size 3t and are supposed to be knee-length shorts. I love my petite little one!

Once again, Too Too let Audrey stick her fingers in their cake and have just the pieces she wanted. She ended up cutting Audrey's name out of the middle. Ha!
It was a fun weekend and Audrey now thinks everyday is her birthday! She's already planning to have an Ariel party next year. HA!

Practically Perfect in Every Way

Sweet Audrey celebrated her third birthday with a Mary Poppins Tea Party. She invited 7 little girls over to celebrate with her and they had a great time! We used real china, linen napkins and our "silver". The girls were all precious and looked so big drinking from their teacups!

Umbrellas and sunhats were the party favors.

The birthday girl was so excited as we were getting everything ready for her party. She couldn't contain her silliness! :D

She was patiently waiting for her friends to arrive. She kept asking me, "They here yet? Mommy, are my fwends here yet?" All of them happened to arrive at the same time! The party started at 9:30 and they were all walking in right at 9:30. She saw her friend, Hannah Grace, out the window first and she yelled, "Mommy, Hannah Gace here, Hannah Gace here!". Then she saw the rest of them and squealed, " and Granny, and Paw Paw, and Lyric, and Too Too and Grandaddy!" It was so precious!!

Audrey asked for Mary Poppins, "the man" and penguins to be on her cake and we were able to oblige every wish except "the man". He was replaced with the kites instead. After she blew out the candles, she immediately asked for a penguin and then bit its head right off. hee..hee..

We had "Spoonfuls of Sugar" because what Mary Poppins party wouldn't have them?!? I piped cheesecake onto spoons and then sprinkled them with blue sugar. I gave Audrey a taste of one a few days before the party and she wasn't too keen on it. After having it another time, she's decided she loves cheesecake! Me, too!!

We are singing "Happy Birthday" to her in the next picture. I just love her sweet little expression and her clasped hands. So cute!!

After having cake and eating cookies, penguin sandwiches, and fruit kabobs, Audrey opened her gifts. All the girls spoiled her with lots of princess goodies!! They all then just played for a while inside and out. After they were all worn out we tried to get a picture of them with their umbrellas and sunhats. Hahahhah!

After everyone left, Audrey and Shelby Claire enjoyed playing with the leftover balloons and Audrey's new toys. Shelby Claire LOVED the balloons!!!
Audrey tried and tried and TRIED to get all of her balloons into her new tent!! We were not successful!

I really love planning and throwing parties. I always have enjoyed doing things like this but now that I have Audrey and Shelby Claire, it makes birthday parties even better. I know that my days are numbered as to how many I am going to get to actually plan so I am enjoying it while I can! The tea party was lots of fun for Audrey and we have played tea party over and over again since Saturday. I love it. Now, I have 6 months to plan Shelby Claire's First Birthday Party. I better get on it!
