Santa Came!!!!

Santa came to see our sweet children and they were sooooo excited!!!! This first picture is of the two of them waiting on the stairs before they could go in to see what Santa brought. I made them stop to have a picture first- ha! It was torturous! :)

Audrey asked Santa for a toy train with a remote and candy canes. Up until a week before Christmas, she asked for a doll with "hair" but changed her mind last minute! Thank goodness Santa knew how to get that train to her! Granny Huckabaa pulled through with a doll with hair so she was a happy girl!

They were both thrilled with their surprises! I love, love, love both of their ages!! Last year Audrey was a little scared about the idea of Santa coming in her house at night but not this year!! Shelby Claire is too young to think about a strange man coming in so she was completely focused on "ho, ho"! :)

 Loving that train!!!
Santa brought Shelby Claire's baby a potty seat!!! She loved sitting on it and pretending she was going to potty. Hopefully this will help Shelby Claire when it comes time for her to learn to go on the potty!
Audrey couldn't believe that Santa didn't eat every.last.crumb of the cookies we left for him. She and Shelby Claire finished them off for him!!

Santa remembered to fill their stockings also!! He put candy, chopsticks (ha), lipstick and random small toys. Shelby Claire's favorite item was the chap stick/lipstick. She couldn't get enough!!
That's an M&M in her mouth that she was so excited about!! :)

We set the train up in the dining room and the girls both played with it all afternoon. Audrey loved every thing about it and was happy with Santa! HA!
Look at these adorable little baby cheeks. Shelby Claire has some kissy cheeks that's for sure!! She's opening diapers in this picture for her baby doll.

This last picture really makes me laugh. I am including it just to prove that I was indeed there on Christmas morning!
We loved our Christmas--- can't wait until next year when we have three little ones to share it with! :)

Christmas Festivities

We went down to my parents on the Sunday morning before Christmas. We had a yummy lunch and then the girls were chomping at the bits to open presents. I remember when I was a little girl being so anxious to get to the presents. Having to sit through a meal was absolute torture but our parents always made us do it. Now, I know I am really old. Not really, just more mature in age I guess. I wanted to just stay seated at the table and finish my meal slooowly rather than jump up and go open presents!

This little one was very interested in the tree and everything around it. She was so precious sitting on this present! It was just the right size for her little self.

Gracie loves babies like nothing else. She enjoyed her Christmas of just loving on Shelby Claire.

My mom tried to maintain some sort of order during the unwrapping but chaos quickly took over. The girls quickly tore into all their gifts!

They all got American Girl Dolls from my parents and LOVED them!!

All Audrey wanted to do was brush her baby's hair-- she loved that her new Bitty Baby actually had hair. It started out with cute little pigtails but Audrey brushed those out pretty quickly!!

Lesa and the girls gave Audrey some Magnatiles and she played and played with them! I think they are going to be her favorite Christmas gift.
I'm not sure why Shelby Claire was upset but I included this blurry picture because even though I am fairly certain she was just having a tantrum about something, I think she is super cute doing it!
Granny made PJ's for all of the girls also. They are super soft flannel and they seem to be so comfy.
Paw Paw wanted a stool to use while hunting dove or deer or something. Shelby Claire had to try it out!
We spent the night with my parents and came back home Christmas Eve. We needed to get back to our own house for Santa to come!!

Days Off and Christmas with the Watts'

I love the worry free days when my girls are not in MDO or preschool. I love getting a break from packing lunches and planning outfits and from having to work around a schedule. This day was a perfect day except it was excruciatingly cold outside and Clay was having to replace our hot water heater.... which meant we had no water inside our house! I had to be creative with entertainment....

We brought the bouncy house inside the den and that did the trick! The girls played and played with it! It was nice for me because I could just prop my big 'ole pregnant self up on the couch and supervise!

Later that night, we went to Clay's brothers house to celebrate Christmas with his family. The girls were spoiled rotten and Aunt Melissa made a yummy, yummy meal!
This was a cardboard house that we set up in the den. The girls LOVED playing with it!!! They "loved" it so much that it unfortunately only lasted about a week. :)

My nephew, Garrett, who is getting so growny. :)
The girls were thrilled with all of their surprises and Clay and I were too. They have lots of fun things to play with in the upcoming months!

Happy Birthday, Jesus Parties

We celebrated the birth of Christ with two sweet little parties at preschool this past week. Audrey's class had hamburgers and cheeseburgers and Hot Chocolate Milkshakes for dessert!

Audrey wasn't too sure about the hamburger from McDonald's. It was the first one she'd had before... she ended up just eating the bun!

She had no problems WHATSOEVER with the milkshake! It was YUMMY!
I was a "helper" this time with Audrey's party- not just a visitor so by the time I got to Shelby Claire's party, it was over. :( I did get to love on her and see her for a minute but with my pregnancy hormones going crazy, I had a big boo-hoo fest over missing it. She didn't notice one way or the other but I did!!

Audrey's party was really cute and laid back. Preschool parties are much different than my fifth grade parties used to be! We usually had a full spread of food and some sort of craft to go along with it. Party day was my least favorite day of the school year! HA!

The parties were on Tuesday but Audrey went to school Wednesday and Thursday also. I saw an idea on pinterest where the mom wrapped all the components of her child's lunch up like little presents as a surprise for the child. I tried it out with Audrey... I had to be really careful not to let her see me as I was making it and I can't believe I pulled that off. I was soooooo excited to pick her up from preschool to see what her reaction was. Let's just say she was less than thrilled and leave it at that! Ha! I am going to do it again though and stick her lunch in plastic eggs at Easter time. I may do Shelby Claire's also... we will see since we will have a newborn in the house at that point!

Today was an "early rising" day for us. By the time 8:00am had rolled around, we had already had lunch, baked and decorated and snacked on sugar cookies, watched a movie, washed two loads of clothes and completed two craft activities. We plan to stay in our pajamas all day and rest up for a busy, busy weekend.

Oh, and we also unwrapped presents (!?!?!) and redecorated the tree a couple of times!!
