New Car Seat

For one of her birthday gifts, we got SC a new car seat for Daddy's car! We got new car seats back in January when we got the van (!!?!?) and will be moving SC into the Britax. We got this one just as a spare for when Clay needs to cart the girls around.

 Shelby Claire was giving the old pumpkin seat one last whirl. I sold it in a consignment sale for more than half of what I paid for it!! It was kind of sad to see it go! It safely took two sweet girls home from the hospital and has been in many restaurants, shopping carts, and on many park trips!

 Audrey had to try it out one last time also. Shelby Claire didn't quite know what to think about her sister being in her car seat!

Tumbling Observation Day

Audrey had another observation day at tumbling and she did much better at this one than she did the last. She still ran to me and wanted to sit in my lap rather than doing what her teacher was telling her, but of what she did do, she did it well. :)

Audrey is certainly improving but is still not a big fan of going. She BEGS and I mean, BEGS not to go. I think it's because it is at 4:30 in the afternoon and by then, she is tired and grumpy. We are supposed to go once a week but don't really go but once every-other-week. We are not going to sign this sweet girl up for any organized activities next year. All she wants to do is "stay home and play in my playroom with Sister". SO-- until she ASKS-- we will just enjoy her at home!

Angel Baby

My sweet angel baby is now one. She is so awesome I can't even begin to describe it. 

These are pictures of her during her last night as a "baby". She will always be my baby but since she is walking and has been forever now, I guess she's officially a toddler. 

She has the most precious personality! So sweet and loving. She loves a baby doll or any kind of soft lovie.

Shelby Claire's favorite thing at the party were her balloons. She COULD NOT keep her hands off of them. Love, loved them!!

This is her on her birthday morning. First day as a ONE year old!! I took these pictures right at 7:00-- she was born at 7:06am. She certainly has changed a lot in a year!!

She's always so happy to see me in the mornings! She laughs and waves and is ready for me to pick her up! She will snuggle and hug me-- I LOVE IT!

She is a healthy little eater! Audrey was always picky about her food but SC doesn't care what it is, she will eat it! We joke that she would eat cardboard if we were to put it in front of her!

She will also hold her own bottle!!! Audrey NEVER did that! Not one time!! She is very good at drinking from a sippy cup, a bottle or even from a straw. I typically just give her whatever is in the cabinet!

Overall, Shelby Claire is an easy baby. She eats well, sleeps well (still two naps but will drop one soon), and  just generally goes with the flow. We love her sweet self.

I so enjoy planning my girls' parties and usually start months before the party. I did the same thing with Shelby Claire's First Birthday but I didn't go "all out" because it was a family oriented party. No party favors, etc. I loved it. 

 We used my Granny's milk glass again. The last time I pulled it out was for Audrey's First Birthday. It's special stuff! :) My Granny collected it for years and years. When I got married, she started giving it to me and my sister at Christmas and other occasions. It's very special to me!

 The cake plate that Shelby Claire's cake is on is one that was given to Clay's Mom when Audrey was born. Audrey shares her birthday with her and Shelby Claire shares hers with Shad (Clay's brother) and with her Great-Grandfather. I have used the cake plate for each of Audrey's birthdays and now hope to continue it with Shelby Claire.

 The sweet little dress Shelby Claire is wearing was worn by Audrey at her first party and by Meredith Grace and Laura.

The decorations were simple, the food was catered and it was an overall easy party! Just like Shelby Claire. 

Party Time!!!

We celebrated our baby girl's First Birthday with a "Vintage Baby" theme. Our family members came and loved on her and we had Jim-n-Nick's for lunch. Shelby Claire filled her tummy with mac-n-cheese and did NOT disapoint us with her love of her smash cake!! I love, love planning birthday parties (or any party, really) and I had a great time with Smiley's first.

This post will be about the people and the sweet baby because that is truly what is most important to me. I will do another post of pics of just the decorations and such so that I have a record of them!
