Audrey's Big Day

My precious girl turned four today. We celebrated with her favorite breakfast, cinnamon rolls!! We sang "Happy Birthday" to her a million times and hugged and kissed her like crazy. We are so thankful for this sweet blessing.

Audrey and Shelby Claire love, love each other. Audrey is so kind and patient with her baby sister. I'm not sure who she got patience from but I hope she can hold onto it!

Too Too gave Audrey a set of roller blades (which she asked for), knee pads and arm pads. We can't get her to put them on! Shelby Claire doesn't mind one bit though!

Clay and I gave Audrey a new bike and Shelby Claire picked out an extra special gift... a fish!

Audrey's birthday was also the girls' first day of school! :) Shelby Claire started going to the Toddler class 2 days a week and Audrey goes to the 4k 3 days a week. I have a part-time job that I work 6 hours a week at that will be over soon. In the meantime, the girls will both go four days a week. :( I'm not too happy about that but I love the job. I teach children who are not able to attend school for whatever reason-- sickness, etc.

It was a day filled with lots of fun for sweet Audrey-- a precious girl who is the light of our life!

Four is a big girl you know...

... you can do things like chew gum when you are four. That is, according to Audrey anyway. :)

Audrey couldn't decide where she wanted to have her fourth birthday party this year. She was torn between A Tea Party Castle, Treetop Family Adventure, home, or The Play Place. We ended up telling her that we would just surprise her! She had no idea where her party would be until the day of the actual party!! :)
Even though she didn't know where the party would be held, she was very specific about who she wanted to be at the party---all of her family!! :D

Aunt Lesa made this outfit for our big girl. She's sworn off all ruffle pants so Lesa made the shirt and the pants just to Audrey's specifications!

It was by far the easiest party I've ever given. The place we had it did all the clean-up and that was a huge help!! After the party, all of our family members went to eat at the restaurant of choice by the birthday girl: Jim-N-Nicks! It was a fun, relaxed party. We may have it there again next year! HA!

Cliffffffoooorrd!!

Our local library had a story time with a super special guest... Clifford!! Both of my girls love that big, red dog!!
Shelby Claire was actively engaged throughout his entire story-- first time for her so it surprised me!!

Here is sweet Audrey loving on Clifford. She was so thrilled to see him in person. I loved watching her excitement and couldn't believe she was so "into" him! The first thing she said when she got in the van was, "You know, Mommy, that was just a grown-up in a costume". Ha-

She always surprises me with how smart she is!
