12 weeks II

We took Audrey to meet her Great-Grandmother Watts this weekend. She lives about 2 hours away and Audrey slept like a champ the entire way there and back. She was also a sweet little girl during her visit! Mrs. Watts made a pound cake and it was yummy! Thank you!

On our way home from Great-Grandmother Watts' house we saw this in the rear window!

Shopping for a new Diaper Champ with Mommy (how we spent the rest of the weekend)!

Audrey's big accomplishment this week was.... she rolled over! Woo-Hoo!! She did it for the first time Tuesday night. I have video of her doing it Wednesday-- she was still struggling but she's doing it lickety-split now. My, TIME DOES FLY!! It seems like just yesterday we were holding that little limp noodle in our arms but now she definitely has a mind of her own. Watch her go!

Please ignore my "baby talk" and southern twang. Don't let it distract you too much!

11 Weeks

Little Miss Priss is 11 weeks old and has a few new tricks!

She will now lay on a blanket and amuse herself for a bit. I cleaned the house Friday and she was on a blanket in the den for about 30 minutes!

Audrey can hold her rattle pretty consistently. In "teacher-talk" I would say her fine motor skills have progressed to the point where she can consistently grasp her rattle in 8 out of 10 trials. Blah. Blah. She really focuses on that rattle and tries her best to get it in her mouth. :)

The two of us went down to see my parents last week and my mom has this crib. She got it when MG was a baby and used it with Laura as well. Now it's Audrey's turn! This mobile is the best mobile ever! This was the first time Audrey paid any attention to a mobile at all. The one in her crib doesn't suit her fancy. She really likes the vivid patterns on the one momma had. She stared at that thing forever! We packed that little joy up and brought it home with us! Hee...Hee...

This was Audrey this morning showing off for her Daddy. She can sit up pretty well in this seat and she was demonstrating her new trick for Clay.

Here she is after Christmas Village Thursday. She was a sweetie-pie the entire day! We got there around 10:00 and didn't leave until 3:00 so she had a long day in her carseat. It didn't seem to bother her one bit. She slept the majority of the day!

Audrey loves to watch TV! I have to turn it off when she is in the room or she will strain her little neck around to see it. This is a shot of her in action. The TV is back behind her.

I just added these pictures to this post after Audrey's bath tonight. Clay and I have been trying and trying to get a picture of her pouty lip. This is a precursor to what is about to come. She usually does this when she is a bit upset but not quite ready to let out a full blown wail. Clay was successful tonight!!

Halloween

Last night we went to my friend Kelly's house to Trick-or-Treat. She lives in an area that has TONS of trick-or-treaters. All the people in the neighborhood bring out their lawn chairs and just pass out candy all night long. I took Audrey with me (some thing-a-ma-gig tripped at the plant and Clay had to stay to fix it) and had full intentions of transforming her into a precious little bee as soon as it got chilly outside. She's a hot natured little thing so I didn't want to put her in it too early or she would melt from the inside! Unfortunately, Audrey had her stinger out from the time we left our house. It took us 25 minutes to get to Kelly's and she cried the whole way there! I thought it was because she was hungry so as soon as we got there I fed her. That usually works but she was having none of it!! She did not even want her bottle. She didn't want me to sit down either-- she just wanted me to hold her on my shoulder and let her cry. So..... we subjected all of Kelly's guests to a bit of crying on and off for about an hour. We then tucked our tail and headed home!! I never put her in the costume last night but here it is from this morning. She was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and not the least bit upset.

She's trying her best to get that costume in her mouth.

I loaded my sweet little baby up this morning and we went to watch her cousin play his last baseball game. This was also Awards Day so Garrett got a medal!

The announcer at the game said that Garrett "Wild Man" was up to bat. The Wild Man made a grand slam on this hit! He's reveling in the cheers from the crowd by standing on home plate. So cute!

Cheering for the Wild Man!

This last photo is from bath time this morning. One of my sweetest students gave this turtle and bath sponge to Audrey last year. As you can see, we love it! Thank you Hannah!
