Last night we went to my friend Kelly's house to Trick-or-Treat. She lives in an area that has TONS of trick-or-treaters. All the people in the neighborhood bring out their lawn chairs and just pass out candy all night long. I took Audrey with me (some thing-a-ma-gig tripped at the plant and Clay had to stay to fix it) and had full intentions of transforming her into a precious little bee as soon as it got chilly outside. She's a hot natured little thing so I didn't want to put her in it too early or she would melt from the inside! Unfortunately, Audrey had her stinger out from the time we left our house. It took us 25 minutes to get to Kelly's and she cried the whole way there! I thought it was because she was hungry so as soon as we got there I fed her. That usually works but she was having none of it!! She did not even want her bottle. She didn't want me to sit down either-- she just wanted me to hold her on my shoulder and let her cry. So..... we subjected all of Kelly's guests to a bit of crying on and off for about an hour. We then tucked our tail and headed home!! I never put her in the costume last night but here it is from this morning. She was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and not the least bit upset.
She's trying her best to get that costume in her mouth.

I loaded my sweet little baby up this morning and we went to watch her cousin play his last baseball game. This was also Awards Day so Garrett got a medal!

The announcer at the game said that Garrett "Wild Man" was up to bat. The Wild Man made a grand slam on this hit! He's reveling in the cheers from the crowd by standing on home plate. So cute!

Cheering for the Wild Man!

This last photo is from bath time this morning. One of my sweetest students gave this turtle and bath sponge to Audrey last year. As you can see, we love it! Thank you Hannah!

Jack did that crying thing almost EVERY time we tried to go anywhere. Next Halloween will be much easier!! Mine was anyway. A really cute bee whichever day it was!
Bzzzzz! What a cute little bee! Our neighborhood is like Kelly's so we had tons of trick or treaters! My family and Carlton's all came over. We took my neice on the buggy for her to trick or treat. John Turner went too. He just fell asleep in his costume on the buggy! Next year we won't be able to keep up with them on Halloween!!
What a "BEEautiful" little bee!!
Miss Audrey just wanted her own day to dress up. By the way, I've had many of those days where we've tucked out tail and headed home. I've learned you have to be very flexible with babies.
Audrey made a very sweet little bee!
Children are soooo unpredictable and, with me being the planner that I am/was, it took some adjusting to having one of my own...actually, it has been nice being a little more "spontaneous" with some things!!!
I hear y'all are headed south for a few days. Hope you have a safe trip and a nice visit with the fam...HONK when you come by the house!
Christi, we were so glad that you and your little pumpkin were able to hang with us on Halloween. Your bone-shaped pimento cheese sandwiches were a hit! And we really appreciated you bringing that extra candy, because we gave out every single piece!!!! We can't wait until next year!
Hey Christi and Clay and Audrey
I want to thank you for the beautiful picture of Audrey that I got in the mail today. I've had the best time looking at you blog from time to time watching Audrey grow. I know you and Clay are just a fool over her and watching her do new things everyday. I think she looks more like you Christi but Gordon thinks she looks more like Clay.I hope that I see you and Audrey at your mothers party Sunday.
Keep the pictures coming so I can watch Audrey grow .
Thanks again for the picture.
