The big 3-0

Last Thursday was my 30th birthday. I really can't believe I am 30 years old. Where has the time gone? I don't feel 30. Anyway-- Clay worked really hard to make it a special day for me. He started by getting up at 3:30 AM and baking me a Birthday Cake. It was complete with 30 candles!!! He also made me breakfast that morning. Later in the day he sent me some pretty flowers that remind me of Christmas! Very sweet. Finally, we went out to eat at Logan's! It was a fun day but the best part of my birthday was the weekend! We left sweet little Audrey with Clay's parents (boo-hoo, cry, cry!) and drove down to Fairhope to celebrate me leaving my 20's. We stayed at The Grand one night (heaven!!) and went shopping in Fairhope on Saturday. They have decorated the streets for Christmas and it is so pretty! I love Christmas lights! We also went into Mobile and went to a Lynn Family Reunion. That is Clay's grandmother's side of the family. We had some awesome shrimp gumbo!
We couldn't get a room at The Grand the second night we were there so we went and stayed at a Homewood Suites in Spanish Fort. It was brand new and right near a new Bass Pro Shop. We shopped until we dropped but we didn't buy anything the whole time we were there except one ornament and some fudge at Bass Pro!!!
Finally, we ended the trip with a visit to my friend, Dorsey's house. We got to meet her precious little girl! Ellie was born just 3 weeks after Audrey. Oh, how I wish they all lived up here still!!! We also ate some yummy soup that her chef of a husband made for us. Thank you!!

Audrey had a wonderful time with her Grandparents. They loved and kissed all over her the entire weekend. It was really hard to leave her though. We decided we would just take her with us next time!

I know it was hard to leave her, but it sounds like you had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Grand before and it was very nice! Happy 30th birthday! I am not far behind you, I will be there on Feb. 15:( Jason is already there and says it's not that bad. Audrey looks sweet in her reindeer outfit.

I am glad you had a fun birthday trip! I told Carlton he had to take me to stay at the Grand! I have never been! I don't feel 30 either, and I don't think either one of us looks that old!!HA!!We still could pass for 20's for sure!! Tell Clay I want a birthday cake on my birthday next year! Looks yummy! I think after the holidays me, you, Dorsey, and the kids need to all meet up somewhere! Let's all plan something!

Happy 30th Birthday! Sounds like a great time. What in the world do you do for your husband that he will get up at 3:30 a.m. to make you a birthday cake? That is definately above and beyond!!

You and Heather must be better moms than me. I LOVED leaving mine at that age! But, in my defense, he cried A LOT!! Now is when I have trouble leaving him. So, if it's already hard for you - watch out b/c it doesn't get easier!!

The very first time I was away from Caroline for any amount of time, she was 2.5 months old and it was only for 2 hours and I worried myself sick while I was gone. It was just hard for me to leave her...obviously!! I still do not like to leave her, but it is nice every now and then just to have some adult interaction time.

Merry Christmas and Happy Belated Birthday...glad that you had a great day/trip!!!

Happy Birthday!! I know that must have been hard leaving cutie pie for a couple of days!! I can't hardley stand it when I go to work and leave Emmie at home!! When I get home, you'd think her cheeks would fall off from Mommy kissing them so much and loving on her!! I'm sure Audrey had her fair share of that when you got back!! She looks so cute in her littl eoutfit!
