Two weeks ago my sister and I were having an email conversation about when Laura was coming up here to have her "Camp Christi". Lesa mentioned that she couldn't come last week because Lesa planned to take the girls to the beach, hoping to beat the oil. So, I, being the fabulous sister that I am, promptly invited myself to go with them!
Friday morning we got up early and went to eat at a Panama City Beach staple, Thomas' Doughnuts. I got a sausage and biscuit. Tee.. Hee.. Audrey had her first doughnut though and loved it!
After our yummy breakfast, we went and spent some time on the beach. It was beautiful and there wasn't a tar ball in sight. When I say "some time", what I really meant was 45 minutes. I'm not a big beach person. I really don't like the sand or the water but I learned about two years ago that a momma will do a lot of things she doesn't enjoy if it brings joy to her child! I actually sat in the sand and I got in the water up to my chest. Clay was shocked. I really don't think he believed me until I showed him the pictures as proof (and there is no way on God's green earth that I am posting that proof on this here little blog). I stayed out there as long as Audrey wanted to and I made sure I had a good time while I was doing it! Audrey can make anything fun!
Late that afternoon, we took the girls down to Seaside to try to get some cute pictures of them all. Let's just say that they weren't "feelin' it" and leave it at that.
These next pictures are my favorites. The first picture shows Laura sharing a bag of Doritos with Gracie and Audrey.
I have no clue how Audrey talked those two girls into giving up the Doritos but she is obviously loving them!
Audrey absolutely loves her cousins. She talks about them NONSTOP and anytime I say we are going somewhere, she'll say, "Gracie? Laura?" as if she's asking if we are going to see them! We both had a lot of fun and can't wait for Laura to come up here for Camp Christi!
Completely random and off topic:
I have changed a whole lot since becoming a momma but one of the strangest ways is my dreams at night. I have a dream that I dream about once a week. When Audrey was brand new I dreamt it every night. Thank goodness it is just weekly now. It starts out with Audrey roaming around the house while we sleep. She's somehow gotten out of her crib and is free. Sometimes I see her at the top of the stairs and I can't get to her before she topples down but the majority of the time the dream is of her asleep in our bed. I always dream that she is falling off the side of the bed and I have to catch her. This is where Clay enters the dream. Only I am not dreaming anymore. I am latched on to him in a major death grip thinking I am protecting my child when I am actually squeezing my husband to death! In the middle of the night. Almost. every. night. She'll be two in two months. Can you imagine how unbelievably annoying that would be for Clay? And yet, he's never said anything except to laugh about it. I so wish that dream would go away!

how much fun!!!! by the way ivy has that strasburg outfit too..
Glad y'all got to have fun at the beach! I LOVE the beach as I'm sure you've seen from my blog the last few years and I hope we get one more trip in this year too. I have heard from people that even though there are some tar balls, you can still enjoy it right now.
I always had a dream that Jack was drowning in the bathtub when he was a baby (so weird b/c we NEVER left him unattended in the bath of course). It has stopped though so I hope yours stops too. I think it keeps us from getting good sleep having dreams like that!
