Shelby Claire's Nursery

We have been working on Shelby Claire's nursery pretty hard since Christmas is over. I put off doing it until after the holidays so I could FOCUS! Ha! I am having trouble with that these days! Back this past summer, we painted the nursery a pale blue before we even knew if we were having a girl or boy. We did that because I found some girl bedding at Pottery Barn Kids that I liked and the display in the store was this pretty blue color. I thought that if it did turn out we were having a boy, I could easily make a boyish nursery out of the blue and that I would have the Pottery Barn bedding if it were a girl.

Since then, knowing we are having another precious girl, I changed my mind about the PB Kids bedding! I do still like parts of it but ended up getting shams from Pottery Barn and the rest of the bedding from Land of Nod. I am not a "themey" type person so we are not doing owls, or birds, or monkeys or anything like that. The duvets and curtains are a pink damask looking floral and the bed skirts are going to be pink tulle (if I get them made!). We have two extra long twin beds in Shelby Claire's room along with her crib and they pose a bit of a challenge when it comes to finding bedding. Not many places carry XL twin sizes and if they do they are usually just found in white or beige. Those bed skirts are on my to-do list!

Audrey has been a big help to us while we get her little sister's room ready! The FIRST thing she does when she gets in there is climb in her crib and make sure the mobile is working properly!

She also loves to pretend that she is a "baby" and play with the toys that we have just thrown in SC's crib. She says babies suck their thumbs and sleep in "cribby's". :)

I will post more pictures of SC's room when we get more done. I still need to hang some pictures, figure out the bed skirts, and get all of her "stuff" put up. Right now it is in somewhat of an organized state of chaos! :)
