Umbrellas and sunhats were the party favors. |
The birthday girl was so excited as we were getting everything ready for her party. She couldn't contain her silliness! :D
She was patiently waiting for her friends to arrive. She kept asking me, "They here yet? Mommy, are my fwends here yet?" All of them happened to arrive at the same time! The party started at 9:30 and they were all walking in right at 9:30. She saw her friend, Hannah Grace, out the window first and she yelled, "Mommy, Hannah Gace here, Hannah Gace here!". Then she saw the rest of them and squealed, " and Granny, and Paw Paw, and Lyric, and Too Too and Grandaddy!" It was so precious!!
Audrey asked for Mary Poppins, "the man" and penguins to be on her cake and we were able to oblige every wish except "the man". He was replaced with the kites instead. After she blew out the candles, she immediately asked for a penguin and then bit its head right off. hee..hee..
We had "Spoonfuls of Sugar" because what Mary Poppins party wouldn't have them?!? I piped cheesecake onto spoons and then sprinkled them with blue sugar. I gave Audrey a taste of one a few days before the party and she wasn't too keen on it. After having it another time, she's decided she loves cheesecake! Me, too!!
We are singing "Happy Birthday" to her in the next picture. I just love her sweet little expression and her clasped hands. So cute!!
After having cake and eating cookies, penguin sandwiches, and fruit kabobs, Audrey opened her gifts. All the girls spoiled her with lots of princess goodies!! They all then just played for a while inside and out. After they were all worn out we tried to get a picture of them with their umbrellas and sunhats. Hahahhah!
After everyone left, Audrey and Shelby Claire enjoyed playing with the leftover balloons and Audrey's new toys. Shelby Claire LOVED the balloons!!!
Audrey tried and tried and TRIED to get all of her balloons into her new tent!! We were not successful!
I really love planning and throwing parties. I always have enjoyed doing things like this but now that I have Audrey and Shelby Claire, it makes birthday parties even better. I know that my days are numbered as to how many I am going to get to actually plan so I am enjoying it while I can! The tea party was lots of fun for Audrey and we have played tea party over and over again since Saturday. I love it. Now, I have 6 months to plan Shelby Claire's First Birthday Party. I better get on it!
