A little of this..

...and a little of that! In preparation for the new baby to arrive, we are trying to get SC and Audrey to at least nap in the same room together. It's not going so well at this point. I put SC's pack-n-play in Audrey's room and Audrey just ends up napping in it and SC ends up back in her crib.

Our dryer went out for the millionth time again. Clay has fixed it each time but this time he said that our 12 year old dryer wasn't worth fooling with again and that we needed a new one! Somehow we came out of the store with a washer too but I'm not complaining! The girls have LOVED the boxes and have worn them out!! Nothing is more fun than a cardboard box!!

Audrey picked out her Daddy's Father's Day gift this year and it came straight from her heart. She said he deserved a trophy so that is what he got!!
She later said that she deserved one too but we will have to wait until some other time to take care of that!!
Shelby Claire has developed a love of markers recently. She and her sister are different in many ways and one of them being that Audrey has never, ever written on anything she wasn't supposed to write on with a marker or crayon. Our sweet Shelby Claire is quite the budding artist and will write on ANYTHING that is in her path. Due to this, she only gets to write or color when she is strapped into her chair!

I've been trying to introduce the girls to more veggies but it's not going so well. Clay doesn't eat many veggies AT ALL but eats a TON of fruit. The girls love fruit (go figure) but it's rare that I can get them to eat a vegetable. This is SC's first taste of corn--- she didn't care for it much. Audrey wouldn't even try it.
Audrey does still love to cook and help me in the kitchen. In this photo, she is wearing one of my shirts as a dress as she cooks. She's also into sticking out her tongue when a camera comes near...
We are filling our days with trips to McWane and the Zoo. It's fun and an easy way to entertain my babies!!

Love my girls and can't wait to add our new little one to the craziness!

Happy Anniversary to us!

We found out we were pregnant with Shelby Claire on our anniversary of that year. Well, guess what?!? Apparently anniversaries bring grand news for us each year because we are pregnant again!! Our third little ray of sunshine is due February 21, 2013-- which happens to be Shelby Claire's 2nd Birthday! We are so excited and "yes" we planned this. Ha! Shelby Claire and Audrey are 2.5 years apart to the day and Shelby Claire and this baby will be 2 years apart.

Easy Breezy Summertime

This is a random blog post about some of the stuff we've done the past week. I don't take nearly the pictures I used to take... partly because I don't have the time, and partly because my camera is about to bite the dust and I never know what sort of picture I'm going to get!

I took the girls to the blueberry patch last weekend to just have a little fun picking berries. I didn't expect to be able to pick nearly enough with the two of them to make jam or anything but I was surprised when I came away with a gallon! I was able to make a blueberry cobbler that afternoon!

They both helped. Ha.

Shelby Claire ate all that she could get her hands on, meanwhile, Audrey is running behind her telling her that they are "yucky, not clean! Don't eat them, Sebby Care!". :)
Later that night, Clay and I went on a date and our sweet Emilee came to watch the girls. Audrey loves this time with her! They made silly putty and angel food cake in a cup. Oh, and they painted a canvas for Clay. I love my babysitter and so does AUDREY! Shelby Claire still doesn't care much for anyone except Momma or Daddy though so we don't go out until she is in the bed. It makes it a late night for us but it's worth it not to have to worry about her.

I've been trying to get my sweet girl to write her name for a few weeks now. She's not at all interested and anytime I mention it, she says it's too hard. Well, the other day I drew a rectangle on our chalkboard and then the letter "A" for her. I told her that if she would write her name, I'd give her a gummy bear for each letter she wrote. Look what she did.
I'm going to quit worrying about whether or not she can write her name!

Little miss has started to entertain herself quite well these days. She swiped the mayonnaise off the table today and then stuck it in Audrey's bug catcher and couldn't have been more pleased with herself.
Our dryer went out (for good--it's "went out" a million times but my handy hubby has always fixed it) and we had to get a new one. We were left with these awesome boxes that we have had SO MUCH FUN with!!! Until I found Shelby Claire on top of one of them-- that sucked all the joy of having them right out of me!!!

Shelby Claire (just like Audrey) has learned to use the lever on the recliner to give herself a boost into the chair. If things go quiet, most of the time it's because she has found her way into the chair.

They are both just little monkeys these days.

She's a heart

attack waiting to happen!!!

My sweet baby girl is a serious dare-devil. She scares me to death numerous times a day. She climbed on top of the coffee table today and was so proud of herself. You can see how delighted she is by the look on the stinkers face. I got her down oh, say about 10 times, before I realized that the only way she was going to learn was through some natural consequences.

Around trip number 11, she full off backwards and hit the couch. Big tears, LOUD tears, but then she was done. She's not climbed back up there!
She moved on to the bathroom. See all the junk on the countertops? It's up there because she pulls open the drawers and gets into it all. She can unscrew any cap on anything. She loves nothing more than to take the top off the toothpaste and squirt it all over herself and then have a picnic while she eats it off.
She also loves to get each and every toothbrush in the house and stand in that drawer and watch herself brush her teeth. She can do that the entire time I am in the shower. She thinks that baby in the mirror is the most beautiful baby in the world. As does her momma.
You want to know why she's just in her diaper? Well, that would be because she knows how to undo the child-safety locks on all the cabinets and drawers. She opened the drawer with all of the pens and markers in it, snatched out a sharpie and looked me dead in the eye. Then took off running to the den. I chased her, attempted to grab it from the human windmill but I was too late. She'd gotten ticked and started slapping at me and wrote all over her little bubble. So, while I was putting it in Oxiclean and soaking it, she took off to the bathroom to eat the toothpaste.
