This is a random blog post about some of the stuff we've done the past week. I don't take nearly the pictures I used to take... partly because I don't have the time, and partly because my camera is about to bite the dust and I never know what sort of picture I'm going to get!
I took the girls to the blueberry patch last weekend to just have a little fun picking berries. I didn't expect to be able to pick nearly enough with the two of them to make jam or anything but I was surprised when I came away with a gallon! I was able to make a blueberry cobbler that afternoon!
They both helped. Ha.
Shelby Claire ate all that she could get her hands on, meanwhile, Audrey is running behind her telling her that they are "yucky, not clean! Don't eat them, Sebby Care!". :)
Later that night, Clay and I went on a date and our sweet Emilee came to watch the girls. Audrey loves this time with her! They made silly putty and angel food cake in a cup. Oh, and they painted a canvas for Clay. I love my babysitter and so does AUDREY! Shelby Claire still doesn't care much for anyone except Momma or Daddy though so we don't go out until she is in the bed. It makes it a late night for us but it's worth it not to have to worry about her.
I've been trying to get my sweet girl to write her name for a few weeks now. She's not at all interested and anytime I mention it, she says it's too hard. Well, the other day I drew a rectangle on our chalkboard and then the letter "A" for her. I told her that if she would write her name, I'd give her a gummy bear for each letter she wrote. Look what she did.
I'm going to quit worrying about whether or not she can write her name!
Little miss has started to entertain herself quite well these days. She swiped the mayonnaise off the table today and then stuck it in Audrey's bug catcher and couldn't have been more pleased with herself.
Our dryer went out (for good--it's "went out" a million times but my handy hubby has always fixed it) and we had to get a new one. We were left with these awesome boxes that we have had SO MUCH FUN with!!! Until I found Shelby Claire on top of one of them-- that sucked all the joy of having them right out of me!!!
Shelby Claire (just like Audrey) has learned to use the lever on the recliner to give herself a boost into the chair. If things go quiet, most of the time it's because she has found her way into the chair.
They are both just little monkeys these days.
