Sundays are the best days of the week!

Our Sundays usually consist of me sleeping late (Praise the Lord for that!), us going to the second church service, going out to lunch and then just spending time together in the afternoons. This past Sunday was a bit more exciting though.

Hot. Air. Balloon.

Yep! We went on a Hot Air Balloon ride!!! A new neighborhood here in town was having an open house and had a "carnival" a few weeks ago. They were supposed to do the rides then but it was too windy so they came out this past Sunday instead.

We had originally planned to take Audrey up with us but thought better of it once the rubber actually met the road. The man "driving" warned us before hand that it was very loud when he blew the flames and that it might scare her.

Clay is the handsome fellow wearing the red shirt.

He was right. It was VERY loud so we didn't even chance it with Audrey. Some random lady that was in line so nicely offered to hold Audrey so we could ride and we were so greatful! We didn't know her from Adam's House Cat but we just handed our precious little one right on over to the stranger and hopped in the basket and didn't think twice about crazy people who could steal our baby. Calm down, Momma, I am just kidding.

There was a nice lady that offered but we very politely declined. I held her so Clay could ride and then he held her so I could ride.

It wasn't technically a scenic ride over our town but rather a gentle swaying over an empty field. The balloon had to remain tethered for liability purposes. However, we still went up 80 FEET!! That's 8 stories~~ but I am sure you all knew that already!

We had great views of the river and a little bit of the town. I mainly looked and waved at Audrey and Clay down below.

The only thing that was really not as I expected was how you enter and exit the basket. I imagined that there was a door and that you would walk easily in. Not so. You have to hike your leg up over the edge of the basket and hoist yourself in. This wouldn't have been such an issue except that I was wearing a knee length skirt. It wasn't pretty but I wasn't about to miss out on a HOT AIR BALLOON ride!! So-- I will know next time to wear pants. :)

That is so cool! It would be neat to take a trip in one!

What fun! I'm glad there are some responsible parents around. I totally would have let that woman hold Jack so Ben and I could ride together:) I should probably think about things like that, huh?
