Beach Day Four

I realize that this could get completely monotonous-- doing daily posts of us just going to the beach and the pool. For me, it is monumental. I am not a big fan of the beach! I grew up going to the beach pretty often and just grew tired of it. I am a very pale person, never ever tan and wear SPF 50 when I go out. I dislike the sand, the salt water burns my eyes, I don't like to get my face wet -period-, so all these things combined, make the beach my least favorite place to vacation. I do; however, enjoy looking at the beach from a balcony or something, dining out, and shopping while I am at the beach.

You are probably thinking that I am crazy to come to the beach. Well, I agree. It is crazy but my precious little girl is having the time of her life. Just like I knew she would. Other than the first day, she has not complained about the sand one time! She loves everything to do with the beach and would stay there all day playing in that little tide pool if we would let her. And I am learning to love it all. I stayed on the beach for two hours today digging in the sand and two more hours playing in the pool. Itwasfineandididntdie.

*Sidenote*- I was feeling grumpy yesterday and I apparently let my feelings show because Audrey told me to go to Wal-mart and pick out a toy that would make me smile. Ha! Cheered me right up!

Shelby Claire thinks the pool is just absolutely fabulous. She loves every last minute that she is in there!
Proof that I did get in the pool! I didn't swim underwater today but I'm guessing it will be soon. I was worried it was going to have to be today because Audrey kept asking me to "swim to the depths" and I thought she was referencing something from "The Little Mermaid". I kept distracting her and then I finally realized she just wanted me to swim to the "steps" not "depths". Whew.
Thankfully, we are practically the only people on the beach. It's a good thing, too, because Audrey loves to feed the birds and we can't help but indulge her. She is so cute trying to get them to come to her and her commentary is priceless!! She is so concerned for the small sea gulls- she says they are hungry. She tries to shoo away the larger ones so the small ones can eat. So sweet..

This is what Shelby Claire thinks of the beach.
She's not impressed.

So far it's been a successful trip. I hope it continues to be this way and that my face stays dry. Ha!
