Beach Day Three

Today was a good day. A really, really good day. We've settled into a routine and it is very nice! We started our day out by sleeping until 7:30 and Shelby Claire didn't wake until 8:00. I love that! After a typical breakfast, we took off to the beach. We were worried because Audrey got sand between her legs yesterday and wasn't really liking the idea of the beach after that. Every time we mentioned going, she'd want to go to the pool instead. Thankfully, we got down to the beach around 9:00 and found an awesome tide pool right near our condo. Her cousin, Garrett, and his parents had given her an Ariel doll for her birthday and she had to try her out in the water. She played and played and had the best time. Whew! Shelby Claire enjoyed hanging out on the towel and was having a good time as well but quickly decided she needed a nap. I took her back to the condo and Clay stayed with Audrey on the beach. They stayed out there for two hours! That may not seem like much but just yesterday she wasn't wanting to go back on the beach at all. 

For the past two nights, we've fed the girls supper and then went down to the pool for awhile. Shelby Claire LOVES her float and just kicks and kicks her little legs in the pool. We re-enacted the entire Little Mermaid movie tonight so I know I am tired. I was "Ursula", Shelby Claire was "Prince Eric" and Clay was "King Triton". Audrey was "Ariel". What does it mean that she always assigns the antagonist characters to me? Hmmm...

Some things I learned:
*We need a bigger blanket for Shelby Claire while at the beach and more toys to entertain her.
*I can take two girls to the pool alone. It's not preferable but it is doable. Especially since Audrey just wants to stay in the hot tub.
*You can never get enough to eat while at the beach. I've had an insatiable appetite since I got here Friday. This will not be good for me as I try to lose my baby weight!
